The annual JustEd Summer School gathered approximately 50 researchers for an intense week in Gothenburg in early August. Excellent speakers delivered thought-provoking keynotes, senior researchers led interesting and challenging workshops and paper sessions for the 34 participating doctoral students.

Assistant Professor Bree Picower, Montclair State University (USA) gave the first keynote speak on ‘Practice what you teach: social justice education in the classroom and the streets’ presenting examples of grassroots teacher activist groups in USA. Her talk was commented by three of JustEd’s doctoral students, Jenni Helakorpi, Valla Bjarnadóttir and Sandra Fylkesnes.
