“We gathered a small group consisting of JustEd members Gunilla Holm, Sonja Kosunen, Jaakko Kauko and myself, and a colleague of mine at Åbo Akademi, Johan Korhonen, and prepared a compact package of information” says JustEd team leader Fritjof Sahlström.

The meeting started with short presentations of current research on equality in education in Finland and the Nordics on a policy level, diversity and equity in the curricula and teacher education, Nordic perspectives on equality in PISA, research results on school choice and how it affects equality in education, and inclusion and social justice in the classroom.

“We presented a broad palette of the essential research done within JustEd on school and equality, and discussed these issues thoroughly with the Committee members. They seemed very interested, and invited us to continue disussing later this year,” Fritjof says.

“All in all, it was a good afternoon.”
