Assistant Professor Sonja Kosunen, University of Helsinki, represented JustEd in the debate at the Finnish debate forum SuomiAreena. In her research, Sonja Kosunen has examined how educational policies, parental school choices and schools in less advantaged neighborhoods can hinder or alleviate the pupils’ equal opportunities and future prospects. In a recent interview, Sonja Kosunen explains how our socioeconomic background might be influencing our educational opportunities from the very beginning, creating differentiation at an early age. Read the interview here (in Finnish).
