Conference programme

The Nordic education systems of today are facing increasing influences of market-oriented competition, social stratification and marginalization or social exclusion. This conference problematizes the current educational trends in Nordic education and explores new possibilities for promoting justice, equity and equality through educational politics, governance, inclusive educational practices and agency of teachers and students, at all levels of education.

Professor Dennis Francis, Professor Piia Seppänen, Professor Nihad Bunar and Professor Ann Phoenix are the confirmed invited speakers in the plenary sessions addressing the topics 1) differentiation patterns as a result of freedom of choice and 2) gender in education.

The conference is arranged By the Nordic Centre of Excellence ‘Justice through education in the Nordic countries’ (JustEd). Participation in the conference is free of charge but requires online registration.
