JustEd Summer Schools

JustEd arranged intensive summer schools 2014, 2015 and 2016 for PhD students from different disciplines in education. Approximately 40 PhD students participated in each summer school, and preference were given to students whose research had a Nordic perspective and to students at the beginning or middle of their studies.

“The summer school, and the way how it brought together top researchers in the field and PhD students, was valuable for all the participants and a way to foster future Nordic research collaborations,” said Professor Gunilla Holm, Director of  Nordic Centre of Excellence JustEd.

The Summer Schools were composed of lectures given by highly recognized speakers, workshops as well as poster and paper sessions where students had the opportunity to discuss and develop their own research project in collaboration with peers and experienced tutors.

The themes of the summer schools were ‘Cultures of justice’ (Gothenburg, 2016),  ‘A Nordic model?‘ (Oslo, 2015) and ‘Methodological approaches to justice through education’ (Helsinki, 2014).

The Summer School was funded by NordForsk’s programme Education for Tomorrow.

JustEd Summer School 2015 was arranged at Voksenåsen, Oslo.
